Abstract

A reality shared by small and large cities is the problem of the generation, just as the treatment of Urban Solid Waste. In Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego), an interinstitutional working group is developing an investigation to diagnose the perception that the inhabitants have about the waste that we produce and its characterization in typology and quantity. Both axes of the study were defined from the constant dialogue, since the multiplicity of views at the time of approaching the topic, showed that it could not be approached from a single discipline, since it would be limited. Our objective is to reflect on the existing research process around this problem, in order to try to incorporate the characteristics of the qualitative critical methodologies to its study. In summary, we will present the research process, mentioning and characterizing the actors involved in the project. In addition, we will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a study that is based on the co-generation of knowledge.
