Abstract

This paper studies some denigrating stereotypes against the Mexicans uttered by some people who would not have been expected: writers with a feminist and liberal agenda, environmentalists and defenders of workers’ rights, enthusiastic promoters of the development of the border between Mexico and the United States, among others. Some explanations about stereotyping are also identified, in particular, those that serve to falsify history and thus justify aggression by a group against others whom it considers different.
