Abstract

To think Popular Education as resistance, an alternative of opposition that questions hegemony from an emancipatory perspective, promoting resources possessed by popular entities in the territory. Popular Education as an overcoming of the condition of economic subject promotes the deployment of the political subject capable of critically analyzing its context and acting on it collectively to transform aspects of their daily reality and at the same time transform itself. The political understood as a quality that places interests and power relations at stake. In this sense we ask ourselves: Who are the popular subjects? Are only the subordinate class of society associated with poverty and exclusion? Is the population they include depleted there? Is the condition of poverty a requirement to integrate it to the category of popular subject? In relation to the context, the concept of poverty is problematized, proposing the categories of social vulnerability and multiple poverties. It is these problems that are discussed in this paper.
